WORKSHOPS

Communicating for a Change

Most of us notice the observable communication behaviors of our colleagues, but few of us know how to effectively adapt our own individual communication approach. Even fewer know how to successfully coach others toward communication improvement. This workshop is aimed at leaders who want to identify their communication strengths while bringing awareness to the non-verbal behaviors that may be limiting their effectiveness. DiSC is the foundation of the workshop and provides a behavior-based universal language that participants will use to complete an individual assessment prior to the workshop.  Participants will learn during the workshop how they may be perceived by others when communicating and how to effectively adapt their message based on their audience. Participants leave the course with an individual communication action plan that includes a personalized strategy for developing more productive, collaborative relationships with employees, colleagues and internal/external customers – anyone within their sphere of influence.

Session Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the DiSC assessment and workshop, participants will be able to:

–Identify individual communication preferences when processing and delivering information.

–Explain the difference between natural and adapted style in communicating and learn when to utilize each one.

–Develop self-awareness regarding personal strengths in communicating and develop a strategy for minimizing existing verbal and non-verbal inhibitors of their communication with individuals and groups.

–Learn to quickly recognize clues in the communication behaviors of others in order to adapt their individual communication approach.

–Be equipped to craft and deliver a message in a way it can be heard effectively by different communication styles.

–Participants will leave the course with an individual communication action plan that includes a personalized strategy for developing more productive, collaborative relationships with employees, colleagues and customers – anyone within their sphere of influence.

Executive Presence

This two-day workshop is aimed at high-potential leaders who want to polish their communication, influencing, and presentation skills as they interact formally and informally with internal or external customers and senior executives.  The session is rigorous and highly personalized (limited to ~6-8 people), including videotaping, detailed feedback discussions, PowerPoint critique and limited image management.  We begin with DiSC as the foundation to help participants identify their communication strengths while bringing awareness to the non-verbal behaviors that may be limiting their effectiveness.

Session Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

–Articulate the components of a personal brand and learn how to develop or re-design one if needed.

–Learn the non-negotiables in how to present a positive, executive image in the workplace and in social settings.

–Be familiar with various presentation styles of delivery and determine which methods to use for specific audiences and situations.

–Develop self-awareness regarding personal strengths in communicating and develop a strategy for minimizing existing verbal and non-verbal inhibitors of their communication with individuals and groups.

–Practice techniques for giving and receiving feedback, listening effectively, asking good questions and speaking in a concise, meaningful way.

–Participants will leave the workshop with an Individual Communication Action Plan, which will be customized based on their individual learning and communication objectives.
